Dragon Ball Super, zbrusu nové televizní anime inspirované mangou Dragon Ball od Akiry Toriyamy, se v červenci objeví na Fuji TV i dalších stanicích, vždy v neděli v 9:00 ráno. Jde o první nový televizní seriál Dragon Ball od dob Dragon Ball GT, který se vysílal v letech 1996 až 1997.

Příběh se odehrává pár let po porážce Majin Buua, kdy na Zemi opět zavládl klid. Masako Nozawa, která propůjčuje hlas Gokuovi, Gohanovi i Gotenovi, k novému anime poznamenala: „Slovo ‚chō' (Super) jsme u Dragon Ballu vždycky používali v reklamách, hrách a podobně, ale to, že teď začíná seriál s názvem Dragon Ball Super, je to nejlepší, co se mohlo stát.“
