Princ Adam je mladý syn vládců Eternie, krále Randora a královny Marleny. Kdykoli pozvedne Meč síly a vysloví kouzelná slova „By the Power of Grayskull, I HAVE THE POWER“, promění se v He-Mana, nejmocnějšího muže ve vesmíru. Spolu se svými nejbližšími spojenci – Battle Catem, Sorceress, Teelou, Man-At-Armsem a Orkem – brání He-Man svou silou Eternii před Skeletorovými zlými šiky. Skeletorovým hlavním cílem je dobýt tajemnou pevnost Castle Grayskull, z níž He-Man svou moc čerpá. Kdyby uspěl, ovládl by svět Eternie a možná i celý vesmír.
