Tento spin-off klasického sitcomu Happy Days se zaměřil na miláčky Milwaukee, Laverne De Fazio a Shirley Feeney — dvě dívky z nižších vrstev, které spolu bydlely a společně pracovaly v pivovaru Shotz jako zátkovačky lahví. Byly rozdílné jako den a noc: Laverne byla ostrá, prchlivá a věčně vyhlížela chlapy, zatímco Shirley byla naivnější, důvěřivější a v lásce dost nezkušená. O dům se dělily s Leonardem „Lennym“ Kosnowskim a Andrewem „Squiggym“ Squigmanem, dvěma nedodělanými maníky, kteří chodili na návštěvu v těch nejnevhodnějších chvílích a přiváděli dívky k šílenství. Holky vysedávaly v Pizza Bowl, místní pizzerii s bowlingem, kterou vlastnil Laverniin hlučný otec Frank. V šesté řadě se postavy přestěhovaly do kalifornské Burbanku a v osmé Cindy Williams jako Shirley ze seriálu odešla. Pořad zůstává oblíbenou stálicí repríz.
