V tomhle seriálu ze šedesátých let, prvním ze čtyř sci-fi počinů Irwina Allena, plní pokročilá ponorka Seaview nejrůznější mise pro americkou vládu. Pod velením admirála Nelsona a kapitána Cranea se Seaview pouští do drsných misí ze skutečného světa — se špiony, odpaly raket, hlubinným průzkumem a podobně.
Jenže pak zabral Batman a Allen usoudil, že budoucnost je v campu a odvázané vědě. Epizody se čím dál častěji točily kolem ovládání mysli, mimozemšťanů, vlkodlaků, zlých loutek a příšer v lacině vypadajících gumových kostýmech. Po dalších třech řadách seriál kvůli nízké sledovanosti skončil.
